Women of SF is Ladysmith’s ongoing portrait and storytelling project, amplifying women’s labor, leadership, and contributions across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our first series, Studios and Storefronts, features a group of 12 founders, photographed in their own environments and telling their stories firsthand. From kitchens and studios to workshops, offices, and storefronts, the work captures the reality of building and sustaining businesses across the Bay.

Future collections will expand to educators, caregivers, changemakers, and beyond, continuing to reflect the full spectrum of women contributing to the fabric of the Bay Area. These are not just profiles, but a record of resilience, contribution, and the work happening at street level every day.

The goal is simple: to create visibility for the women whose work often goes unseen, and to document the role they play in shaping the culture, economy, and communities of San Francisco.
